Boys'  Program Information

Note to parents of new players / beginners:

Lacrosse is still a very new sport to the youth of RI. Therefore your child is never too old to start playing. This is not like other longer established youth sports where it is difficult for a child to join in their teens if they have never played before because the majority of the existing players have developed superior skills. Lacrosse is a sport where many of the kids who play in high school pick up the lacrosse stick for the first time as a freshman in high school. The typical youth team in the older two divisions has 20%+ of new players on each teams' roster. Your child will not be alone as the only "newbie" on their team.

Girls lacrosse is a non-contact sport and that is why only goggles and a mouth guard are the only required safety equipment. It is a game of finesse passing, catching and shooting. There is zero contact in the Instructional program, therefore goggles are not required. See the "Equipment & Uniforms" link for more information about equipment:

Note: Fees below have been updated for the 2014 season. Discounts for multiple children are applied during registration.

Age groups are determined by player's age at the beginning of the school year (Aug. 31st). So players that turn 15 years old on or before Aug. 31st are no longer age eligible for the Youth Lacrosse Program. Players that turn 15 on or after Sept. 1st are considered U15 for that school year and the spring season. Similar age limits apply for U13, U11, etc.

All programs begin first week of April and run through mid to late June (depending upon play-offs, jamborees, etc.). Practices during the week all start at 5:30 PM or later. Game times on Saturday vary based upon the discretion of the state league.
